Clarity around event requests

We appreciate it is a challenging time for suppliers and the situation is ever changing.

During this time of uncertainty we are working hard to ensure that we:

  • Are not facilitating those who are planning events that go against government guidelines for social distancing

  • Give you an opportunity to quote on future events whilst allowing you to make your own judgement as to whether the event is likely to go ahead

  • Allow requests to go through that can legitimately be fulfilled during social distancing. For example virtual entertainment services or equipment hire that can be couriered e.g. a bubble machine for a family party with those living together

  • Ensure we can get these requests out to you as soon as possible without a slow approval time

Please note that we allow organisers to request over 300 different services and each of these will be impacted in different ways due to the COVID-19 crisis so it’s complex to ensure we get all of this right.

Steps we are taking:

  • During this time, we’ll be increasing checks to move many event requests that might contradict government guidelines into a manual approval queue.

  • We are endeavouring to close as many requests as possible which are contrary to government guidelines before they reach you. However, we don't want to restrict certain requests that can still be delivered (small equipment hire by courier or remote services) that are a lifeline for certain suppliers.

  • We are launching new remote services to support suppliers in this difficult time, if relevant you will receive an email notifying you of these.

  • Monitoring government guidelines on social distancing and regularly updating our procedures.

Steps you can take:

  • If a request comes through that you deem to be contrary to government advice, please use the 'Report Request' function and a member of our support team will investigate.

  • We appreciate each business will be different in terms of when they expect to be servicing requests again, as such we recommend you update your Availability to filter out requests for this period.

  • Adjust your Service Preferences to refine the types of requests you’d like to receive

  • Pay close attention to dates of requests and use your own judgement when deciding if it’s worthwhile quoting

  • Ensure you are very clear in your terms and conditions with regards to cancellations

  • Keep a close eye on the latest government recommendations.

If you have any questions or suggestions please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
