What's changed
Plain-English wording throughout
We've gone through the whole agreement and made the language clearer and more direct. We've also given suppliers their own dedicated agreement, separate from the one that applies to event organisers, so the terms relevant to you are easier to find and read.
Data protection
We've updated the data protection wording in the terms to use the current UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 terminology, and given our Privacy Policy a refresh at the same time. The refreshed policy is clearer and easier to follow, with better explanations of the data we hold, how we use it, and your rights.
Ownership of your content
The updated terms confirm that you retain ownership of the content you submit to Add to Event, including your listings, images, and any other materials. We have a non-exclusive licence to use them where needed to operate the platform and help connect you with potential customers.
Referencing Add to Event in your own marketing
We've added clearer guidance on how you can reference Add to Event and use our branding in your own marketing, for example mentioning us on your website or sharing review screenshots on social media.
Liability
We've tidied up the liability section so it's clearer and easier to follow. This includes a clearer framework for raising and handling any claims.
Credit expiry
We're introducing a defined expiry period for credits. There's a transitional window for any credits already on your account, and the section below covers exactly how this works.
Account suspension and closure
We've set out more clearly the circumstances in which an account may be suspended or closed, and how we handle accounts that have been inactive for an extended period.
Complaints
We've added a formal complaints process with clear steps and timeframes, giving a structured route for raising any concerns or disputes with us.
A closer look at credit expiry
Credits will now have an expiry period. We want to be open about why we're making this change, and exactly what it means for you.
Why we're making this change
This change brings our credit system in line with current best practice for financial reporting, and with how the large majority of credit-based marketplace platforms operate today.
Credits already on your account
If you have credits on your account before Wednesday 9th September 2026, you'll have until Thursday 9th September 2027 to use them. That gives a twelve-month window from the new terms taking effect.
Credits purchased from Wednesday 9th September 2026 onwards
New credits expire 12 months from the date of purchase.
How credits are used
Credits are used on a first-in, first-out basis, meaning your oldest credits are always used first when you send a quote. The platform handles this automatically, so you don't need to think about which bundle to use.
Reminders and visibility
If you have any credits that are close to expiring, we will send you an email reminder around a month before any of your credits are due to expire which will include the amount and date you need to use them by. You can also see your credit balance and usage history at any time in your account.
Our product team are also working on a way for you to be able to track any credits that will be expiring from your dashboard so keep an eye out for this coming soon.
Larger balances
We appreciate that some suppliers have built up larger credit balances over time. If this applies to you, please get in touch. We're happy to discuss your situation, including the option of a custom expiry arrangement for those credits to give you more time to use what you have.
