Understanding what a direct request is and it's core benefit

We receive customer requests in three ways: regular requests, invites, and direct requests.

Regular Matches (Regular Requests)

Organisers come to Add to Event to find event suppliers in their area and will send a request to multiple potential suppliers.

For example, an organiser might be looking for a hog roast supplier for a wedding in Hampshire. They’ll send out a request to the suppliers that fit their need - ‘Hog Roast’, ‘Wedding Caterer’ - in the Hampshire region. We’ll pass their request on to the each of the suppliers who can provide that service, and those suppliers can choose whether to respond. This is what we call a "Regular Match" or a "Regular Request".

Direct Requests

A direct request is sent to specific suppliers chosen by the organiser. It means they have found your profile and are interested in what you’re offering so they want to speak specifically with you & receive a quote.

It’s always a good idea to respond to direct requests as the organiser has chosen your profile specifically and shown direct interest in what you have to offer.

Invites

After submitting a regular request, we show organisers a list of suppliers we think would fit what they're searching for. The customer can then choose to send you an invite to quote on their request as one of their preferred suppliers.

It’s always a good idea to respond to invited requests as the organiser is already curious about your business profile.

Identifying Request Types

Regular matches will simply appear in your inbox as usual.

If you have received a Direct Request or an Invite, you will notice the corresponding icon in the bottom left corner of the request as it appears in your inbox.
