How do I decline a request or invite?

Tell an customer you aren't able to quote on their invite

Updated over a week ago

There are two different processes for declining an event, based on whether it is a general request or an invite. Learn more about the difference here.

Archiving Requests

When you receive a request you're not interested in, all you have to do is simply archive it! There's no need to decline or give a reason why.

These requests have come through the customer completing a search form on our site & we have suggested their request to you as one you may like to quote for. This means that they have not seen your profile.

The customer won't know which businesses have received this request, so there will be no impact on your reputation and the customer will not be notified of your decision to archive.

Declining Invites

When a customer invites you to quote, it's important you send a decline if you can't make it or it doesn't suit your needs. This is because the customer has specifically seen your profile and asked you to quote.

You can decline the invite by following these instructions:

  1. Head to your Requests in the main menu and select Invites from the tabs at the top

  2. Work your way through your invites and click into each one to view more detail

  3. If you can't make it or you're not interest, click on the menu in the right hand corner of the Event details section

  4. Press Decline Invite

5. Select one of the reasons available for declining the invite.

We will notify the customer of your decision to decline and your reasons why.
