Understanding what a request and a direct invite is and their core benefit

Updated over a month ago

We receive customer requests in two ways: regular requests and invites

Regular Matches (Regular Requests)

Organisers come to Add to Event to find event suppliers in their area and will send a request to multiple potential suppliers.

For example, an organiser might be looking for a hog roast supplier for a wedding in Hampshire. They’ll send out a request to the suppliers that fit their need - ‘Hog Roast’, ‘Wedding Caterer’ - in the Hampshire region. We’ll pass their request on to the each of the suppliers who can provide that service, and those suppliers can choose whether to respond. This is what we call a "Regular Match" or a "Regular Request".

These will appear in the "Inbox" area of your Requests tab.

Invites

After an organiser has submitted a regular request, we show them a list of suppliers’ profiles we think would fit what they're searching for. The customer can then choose to send you an invite to quote on their request as one of their preferred suppliers.

If the customer chooses to invite you to quote this is a great sign that they like the look of your business based on the photos & information in your profile. These invites will appear in the “Invites” area of your Requests tab.

Make sure you always respond to invited requests as responses to invites more likely to get booked! The customer is really interested in you, so a speedy and detailed reply is key.
