This collection of articles takes a deep dive into every single aspect of your requests and quote inbox, answering some FAQs like:
How am I matched with requests?
Do I need to respond to every request?
How do credits work?
How can I tell if a customer has read my quote?
How can I tell if a request includes a phone number?
And so much more…
Let’s get started!
Arriving in your inbox
So, you’ve joined Add to Event and you’re ready to start booking new customers, the next thing to do is start browsing the requests in your inbox.
The requests that appear in your inbox have all been matched to you based on:
Your location
Your coverage
Your service preferences
🙋 If you're receiving too many / too few requests or the wrong type of requests, get in touch and we can help you edit your settings.
At the beginning of your Add to Event journey, all requests in your inbox are general matches. This means, the customer has submitted a request through Add to Event looking for your services in your location. They have not at this stage, directly seen your profile. We have simply matched them to you because we believe your services fit what they’re looking for.
This means that there is no need to respond to all requests. You can pick and choose the ones that interest you.
💡 Think of us as an introduction service and your requests as job listings. We’re simply sharing with you great events and customers looking for your services who you wouldn’t find elsewhere!
It’s up to you to quote and apply for the work. The customer will then compare the quotes they’ve received from you and other businesses and decide who they want to work with.
Managing your inbox
In your inbox, you will also notice that you have a tab for Inbox, Invites, Favourites, and Archived.
Inbox
This is your live feed of all the latest requests that meet your preferences (location, coverage, and services).
Invites
Once your profile has been live with us for a little while, you will start to receive Invites. This means a customer has seen your profile and they want to work with you specifically. These will clearly appear in your Invites panel and display the “invited” tag so you can identify them easily. Invites work slightly differently to general matches, you can read more about them here.
Favourites
Easily "Favourite" a request to come back to later by pressing the star icon in the top right hand corner of any request, then head to your Favourites tab when you’re ready to work through them. Think of this like your shortlist of requests you want to respond to later.
Archived
You're matched with events based on your services & location, so unless you receive an Invite, you don't need to reply to every request you receive. If you see one you're not interested in, simply archive it to hide it from your view and keep a clear inbox. To archive a request, simply press the box icon in the top right hand corner - you can always “unarchive” a request later if you change your mind.
If you're archiving a lot of requests that aren't right for you, you may need to update your settings! Find out more here or get in touch with us and we'll be happy to help.
